The route is through woodland and round Beeston Common. There are no stiles en route. It is a pretty walk in autumn as the trees change colour and in spring, when primroses adorn the woodland floor. Many wildflowers can be found on Beeston Common. At Pretty Corner there is a cafe which opens between Easter and October.

Walk completed on 2 January 2021. In essence a lovely walk around the forest and across Beeston Common coupled with some very interesting properties in Sheringwood. There are however some issues you might want to think about before walking. You know longer have to walk along the verge on the A148 as there is now a forest path running parallel to the road. The path at Mark 2 is no longer walkable as its overgrown and in places covered in fallen trees, its best to follow the path around the old wood until you make the connection with the path that works its way through the forest. From Mark 7 until you reach the car park the current instructions are tricky to follow as much in the forest has changed not least there appear to be new paths and some missing pathfinders. We did find the car park but it did feel at times as though I was rather following my nose rather than knowing exactly where I was.
