Prixford is a very pretty village, with an attractive row of cottages which used to be all thatched. There used to be an excellent pub here but, at the time of writing it is closed awaiting a decision on development. Very little development has taken place in the village, as with Kingsheanton, the next village you walk through, just cottages tastefully modernised. There are several old, high-banked Devon lanes on the walk and from Shirwell, glorious views. There are remarkable old trees but some demanding hills.
