Starting from the road north of Santiago del Teide, descend into a lush green valley before climbing up to a ridge through woodland; then follow a dirt road though a pine forest with fine views of Teide. The forest road ends at a short, steep climb rewarded by amazing views across western Tenerife and La Gomera. After a 'balcony' walk, the route goes through ancient woodland to return.
