The walk follows old tracks up through the trees to reach Newland. The Cathedral of the Forest, All Saints Church in Newland, has been here since 1200 AD. Return route is in a lovely valley, following a stream down to Redbrook.

A very interesting walk - along steady climb at the start, otherwise easy. It is worth spending time looking around All Saints Church followed by a visit the Ostrich PH for a lunch time pint and good food - walkers (and dogs) are welcome.

As beginners we found the walk very hard at first - the description does not mention a steep track at the beginning of the walk! We nearly gave up before we had started. Its described as an "easy walk" which was not the case for us. I also suggest a mention of the Boat Pub, in whose car park we parked. Good for a rest and a nice pub lunch after what was for us a long and exhausting walk.
