Rhosneigr has great beaches with good surfing in the bay. RAF Valley is nearby and often aircraft are seen and heard overhead. The walk starts from the edge of the town, circling Lake Maelog, which is a good place to view sea and lake birds.

Continuing on through the sand dunes, head on towards the headland with the ancient Barclodiad Neolithic burial chamber. You can stop here to investigate the inside of the monument. It has been rebuilt with a modern roof to help preserve the decorated stones within. This makes it look more like it might have thousands of years ago. There are views of foaming waves, down in the bay, as the path goes on to the other side of the headland.

The return is along the beach and through the dunes along a stream to the start.
