This is a walk in England where all the place names are in Welsh. No prizes for guessing who fixed the border. A good part of this walk is in woodland whose owners go out of their way to make walkers feel welcome. If you have a GPS, you can download the track of my own walk from the 'related downloads' tab. The woodland and especially the woodland edge is rich in plant and animal life. The MoD link below discusses this. Naturalists and geologists will find plenty to interest them.
Most of the paths are easy - the steepest descent has steps and the main climb is steady rather than steep. In good conditions there are long views into England, with the Wrekin clearly visible some 28 miles away.
After your walk, there's a high quality hotel nearby for refreshment.
Please note the 'alternative route' section under 'additional information'.
