Walk starts from edge of historic Ribchester just 400m from the site of the Roman bath and the Roman museum. First section of walk makes its way to and through Duddle Wood and its disused mill and associated stream. The gentle climb continues north over open countryside to highest point on walk at Higher Hudd Farm. Descent from here is over open countryside with good views over Ribble Valley and Samlesbury Hall down to a stretch beside the River Ribble. The final section passes via farm tracks back to start.
