This walk is to the low hills to the east of Ribchester (Walk 2502 goes to the west) and any climbs are very gradual or very short. The terrain is predominantly pastures with some lanes. It passes an ancient church and almshouses at the start and passes the lovely buildings of Dutton Hall half way round, finishing along the banks of the Ribble on the Ribble Way before a short stretch of lane back into the village.

This is an excellent walk which we completed today, Wednesday 23rd July 2021. It is the second time we have done the walk and just as good again. There have been some significant changes since the last time with missing waymark posts, overgrown and changes in path directions.

Good walk with a dog. A number of stiles to be crossed including 1 small ladder stile.

On my last walk on the 10-07-07 beware at Grindlestone House/Farm the Jack Russell dog has been loose.

Lovely walk with beautiful views and the stream at Waymark 10 made a perfect picnic spot - we even had the sunshine!! But the mud - over our ankles at times - still we coped and it would be an easy walk if the fields dried up!!
