Starting at the village of Ringmore, the walk drops to a lovely valley which is a suntrap and abounds with wildflowers in spring and summer. It then follows the valley bottom to a beautiful wood and eventually climbs out of the wood to open fields. The path takes you alongside and through the fields very close to the village of Kingston, where the walk can be interrupted for 'refreshments' in the old village inn. The stalwarts will carry on though, along a path which joins Westcombe Beach, a lovely isolated cove, which cannot be reached by road. The coastal path is followed over the clifftops to Ayrmer Cove, an excellent stop for a sit / swim. Finally you climb out of the cove to join the footpath which returns you to Ringmore.

9/9/2015 - R T Holmes

We walked this route on 27th August 2015. The directions are clear and accurate though we found a number of way marks were missing and stiles had been replaced with gates. The location of the Dolphin Inn in Kingston is not obvious. To reach this follow the lane up to the village, turn right at the tee junction and then first left. It provided decent food and good ale. An excellent walk - though the final climb is a little testing!
