This is a magical walk in winter, as this is the time when flocks of wild geese fly overhead across the fields of North Norfolk. The route is along tracks and country lanes; the tracks are by kind permission of Lord Melchett, a strong conservationist. There are more paths across his land for the public to enjoy; pick up a leaflet at the many boxes on route.

Some walks are simply better in the winter. The long sections into the early winter sun and the beautiful pale blue North Norfolk sky made this a most enjoyable couple of hours. Lunch was taken on a nicely placed bench in Ringstead, a perfect spot to absorb the majesty of this beautiful village. I can confirm the Gin Tap and village shop are both still open. No changes to the walking instructions and waymarks all still in order.
