We begin at the visitors' centre adjacent to the massive dam of the Embalse Torre de Abraham. There is an excellent display of the patrimony of the region and a wonderfully presented river nature park complete with boardwalks. From here we shall follow the well-signed Rio Bullaque path, leading us south mostly through shady copses of oak-trees and shrubs. At the foot of the Sierra de la Ventilla we will leave the river pathway and head inland to cross the river by a fairly precarious stone ford, before turning south once more along a little lane that will bring us to the township of Pueblo Nuevo del Bullaque. Very little happens here (and that quite slowly) but there are a couple of café-bars where we can refresh and rest awhile.
From here we will head NW out of the pueblo along a lane before turning west to cross the river again by a long causeway bridge. Shortly thereafter we can shorten the walk significantly by heading north along an unmarked dirt road that will rejoin the river walk not far short of where we left it earlier. This description carries on to join the Ruta Colada de Navalrincón where we turn NE along the shady track. In a couple of kilometres we are back at the point where we left the river route and have now only to enjoy the opposite perspective as we retrace our footsteps to the start.
