This walk commences at the outskirts of Frodsham and soon leaves behind the hustle and bustle of modern life to return to the more tranquil pace of the country. There are stunning views on both riverbanks, with wildlife in abundance. Evidence of the earlier trading history of the river, moorings, chains and other maritime paraphernalia lies clearly in view. Leisure has now replaced commerce as the main river activity and this is highlighted with various organisations putting the water to good use in a variety of ways.

Ian was quite right, the map had been incorrect but has been corrected now

It took us a while to work out what was wrong with this walk! We moved away from the river at WM3 as this seemed right, going by the map, but the directions made no sense from then on. Eventually we realised the numbering on the map was wrong. So, WM6 should be 3, WM5 should be 4, WM4 should be 5 and WM3 should be 6. That said, if we did this walk again we would probably do it in reverse again, as the climb from 3 to 4 (as the map stands) is shorter than that between 5 and 6 where there are also good views ahead of you as you drop down to the river. Walked 29/3/15.
