There are currently four walks from Rivington and all go for high ground after the start. I decided to add a low-level, family walk, one which might also be useful in bad weather as it is almost all on gravelled tracks or private surfaced roads and without stiles. It begins by leaving The Barn, walking towards Lower Rivington Reservoir and following a track northwards to the road between the Upper and Lower Reservoirs. Once over, a private road is followed to the dam of Anglezarke Reservoir and from there to a track alongside Yarrow Reservoir. A streamside path is followed to steps with handrail up by a waterfall and then to the only field on the walk and to a road where a very short detour takes you to Rivington Village Hall tea rooms. The walk continues by private road to Rivington Hall Barn, from which gravelled tracks are followed to Liverpool Castle and back to the start of the walk.

A lovely walk for the winter, on good paths with little mud and no stiles. Easy to follow directions. One minor correction. At Waymark 14 the Barn is closed and there are no toilets. There is a good cafe, information centre and toilets at Waymark 1
