This walk shows off Wharfedale in all its different aspects, the scenic valley between the priory and the Strid soon giving way, as height is gained, to views back through Lancashire and ahead across Yorkshire. Then some solitary wilderness is gently crossed before a steady descent allows the priory and the fabulous valley to be savoured.

Did this walk yesterday (28/2/16).Very difficult to locate path at point 7. After 3 attempts, and 1.5 hours, we eventually had to use compass to go in right direction, ploughing through knee high heather, reeds and water to find a path which we could follow.

My wife and I walked this walk last Saturday 13/10/12. At waymark 7 of the guide, which states "leaves the wall, stick with it", the game keepers have made, I believe, a new track which leads to Black Hill Farm. So we couldn't find the path that crosses the moor.
