This is a most pleasant walk along very quiet country lanes, field edges, tracks and across a common, which in July is covered in orchids. Other times of year there are many other wildflowers and these attract butterflies and as the common is a wet area, also dragonflies. The New Inn is at the end of the walk and just a few yards from the car park opposite the staithe where boats moor; it has an excellent menu.
