This is only a short walk but takes you to the summit of one of the most iconic and recognisable peaks in England. The route starts off in the tiny village of Newton under Roseberry and follows a route around the northern side of the hill for some excellent views over the countryside.
The route heads to the back of Roseberry Topping before following the main route up the spine to the summit and its dramatic western face plunging far below. After enjoying the spectacular 360-degree panorama, the route follows a well-worn path down to the woods near the car park and back to the start.
No pubs are passed directly on the route but the King's Head is just a stone's throw north of the car park and offers superb food and overnight accommodation.
