On the rocky promontory of Rubha Reidh stands Rua Reidh lighthouse (Rua is an alternative spelling for Rubha)- now used as a private B&B. This route runs from the lighthouse along the top of the cliffs to above the beautiful sandy bay at Camas Mor, but note that there is a walk-in of 5kms each way from the public car park at Melvaig (allowed for in the published walk length).

From the lighthouse you can drop down past the little bothy (which is full of character) and return by the beach and cliffs and a fairly steep climb back up to the outward route. If the tide is too far in, the return is by the outward route.

I did this walk in July 2006 on a hot summer's day. I found it to be quite strenuous for someone not realy experienced and the path for the return route (step 8) rather difficult to find (found myself hanging in the cliffs a few times). But it was worth the effort, because it offers amazing views of land and sea and I even saw some Basking Sharks!
