This is a very rural walk, close to the Surrey / West Sussex border, using a short stretch of the Sussex Border Path and a longer one along the Downs Link trail and twice crossing the River Arun. Several parts of the walk involve little-used and (in summer) overgrown paths and wonky old stiles; they also include several short climbs and navigation skills are needed. The more straightforward (and level!) part is the Downs Link, which links the North and South Downs using the former Guildford to Horsham railway line. See additional information.

The instructions and waypoints around WPs 16/17 don't seem quite right. The farm drive at WP 16 leads to a (possibly private?) road. Turning right on this road leads to WP17 as expected, but then to some gates onto Loxwood Road (which leads to the final WP). The gates have electronic security and we ended up climbing over/under them. It is not clear that there is any other way onto Loxwood Rd.
