We begin by following a short coastal path which will quickly bring us down to the picturesque little bay of Sa Caleta, full of typical fishermen's boat huts (varaderos). From here we continue a few metres to reach the remains of a Phoenician settlement on the headland (see additional information). Immediately adjacent to this are former gun emplacements which we can explore (see additional information). From here we pass the beach and restaurant before continuing along the coastal path, enjoying the splendid views over towards the area of Codolar, the salt lakes and the airport. Now we wander inland, soon passing through delightful Ibiza countryside, ablaze with colour in spring. After a short, quiet road stretch we are soon heading across country to return to Sa Caleta, from where we retrace our outward steps to the start.

Thanks to Gerrard Sweeney for kindly checking this one in January 2019. There are no navigational changes and this remains a delightful little family ramble perhaps to combine with a swim. Highly recommended. Jim Arymar
