Leaving charming San Carlos with its ancient church and well-known Anita's Bar (of original Hippy fame) we climb gently out of the Morna Valley, passing the old village well (Font D'en Peralta) and Can Andreu, a classic old Ibizan farmhouse (which can be visited). We pass through wonderful old countryside, full of interest and wildflowers at their best between February and May.
Later we pass through pinewoods and descend to Cala Mastella, which apart from its unspoilt beauty, has the well-known El Bigote fish restaurant serving delicious daily-caught fish between May and October. There is good, safe swimming in the warmer months.
We wend our way back towards San Carlos, climbing gradually through wooded hills and passing other points of interest before reaching the crest above San Carlos, with magnificent views across it and the Morna Valley beyond. A short and picturesque descent brings us back to the village for a well-earned drink. Enjoy it!
