Sandhurst is a long and narrow village just north of Gloucester, clinging to the only road that passes through it. It lies close to the east bank of the River Severn and from the village, the walk heads along a good track straight for the river, then follows the Severn Way along the edge of fields, through small areas of woodland and alongside several lakes which are close to the banks of the river.
The walk leaves the Severn Way just before it reaches the City of Gloucester and follows the country lane which winds its way through Sandhurst back to the starting point. There is no pavement along this road - it does not have a constant flow of traffic, but you are likely to meet some occasional traffic while walking along here.

Attempted this walk today. At waypoint 6 there is no access to a path on the river side of the lagoons. The path passes to the east of the lagoons. The path south of waypoint 7 is heavily overgrown, at times we were battling through chest high vegetation and access to stiles was difficult. Such were conditions that we abandoned the walk at waypoint 10 and headed back to the road. Altogether a very disappointing day.
