From Santa Eularia we begin by climbing Puig de Creu d'en Ribes through pine forests to reach the tiny chapel that overlooks the town below and from where we can enjoy magnificent views. Next we descend very directly a very steep, rocky footpath that brings us to the northern outskirts of the town. After leaving Santa Eularia we walk along quiet country lanes until we reach a bridge over the mainly dry riverbed of the Rio de Santa Eularia. If conditions permit we will walk along the riverbed a short way before crossing the main Eivessa road and continue through timeless Ibiza countryside. Later we will follow a dirt road that will bring us to the resort of Cala Llonga, with its lovely beach and wide range of bars and restaurants. From here we shall climb to reach a delightful cliff-edge path which will eventually bring us, via a tunnel, back to the bridge over the rio and the lovely promenade of Santa Eularia.

We checked this entire hike out in October 2018. The Rio de Santa Eularia is now completely overgrown with bamboo and the river walk from way mark 12 is impossible. The alternative from there is described in Additional Info. I have changed two pictures and amended one or two walk step directions. Overall the hike remains in good order. The entire hike is hard work but worth it. Highly recommended. Jim Arymar
