The walk leaves Sawley by the Ribble Way and makes its way across many smallish fields. There are beautiful views. An old pack-horse route is joined, which goes over an attractive arched bridge. This is a relaxing walk characteristic of the Ribble Valley.

Good walk. After crossing the railway (WM12) there are a number of stiles which you would have to lift a medium/large dog over plus a ladder stile you would have to lift any dog over.

There appears to be some re-routing from Waypoints 4 to 6 and it might be better to say simply just follow the Ribble Valley footpath. Similarly, at Waypoint 13 it would be better to say turn left down the farm track for 70m then look for the stile on the right that takes you on a path around the farm house here. At Waypoint 15, after passing the solid barn carry on following the hedge until you come to a stile on the left that leads to a faint track going on to the pack-horse bridge, which was a sheer delight to cross! A great walk on a sunny day (at last!).
