This really is a lovely walk starting in the town of Saxmundham walking through the beautiful Suffolk countryside consisting of field paths, enclosed paths, stretches through woodland and along country lanes. There is a very short stretch beside a busy road, but it has a wide grass verge to use. En-route you will also pass through a few villages and past three pubs, that's apart from the pubs and food outlets at the end in Saxmundham town centre. You also have a choice to cut the walk short by 1.5 miles by not visiting the village of Friston and the pub.
All paths were clear, and most were signposted (Oct 2022). If any of the paths through the ploughed fields are not defined, please refer to the directional arrows on the waymark photos for the correct way ahead.
