A fantastic short walk for those wishing just to get out and about for a little while, especially good after a stressful day in the office. The walk takes you along past the Saxon Shore Way by the River Medway at Lower Upnor, returning along field-paths back to Lower Upnor.

The village of Lower Upnor is ideally suited to relaxed evenings; it boasts two pubs, toilets and great views across to the old dockyard at Chatham. It is also a great place to sit and watch the yachts going up and down the river from the Medway Yacht Club.

Just up the road from Lower Upnor is the aptly-named Upper Upnor, which also boasts two pubs and the castle (English Heritage).

A nice walk but a pity the beach was littered with rubbish.

A rather disappointing walk with few points of interest. The stretch along the River Medway was litter-strewn and further on you find yourself wandering alongside a very unattractive industrial estate.

I know this walk very well and it is very pleasant, but care is needed to ensure you do not become trapped by the tide between the Wilsonian Sailing club and Hoo marina - the beach is often flooded for an hour either side of High tide.
