This is a very pleasant totally flat coastal walk suitable for the whole family at any time of the year. Located in the south east corner of County Durham the walk starts from the small seaside resort of Seaton Carew and then follows the wide surfaced promenade all the way to Hartlepool. After briefly passing through a modern residential area the route soon arrives at the Historic Quay where the walk then heads clockwise around the Quay passing first The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool then a small retail park and finally the busy Yacht Marina where there are several shops and eating places centred around the main part of the marina. The walk then crosses the lock gates at the entrance to the marina and skirts around the Yacht Club to re-intersect the promenade for a return back to Seaton Carew.
This is also a walk suitable for both wheelchair and mobility scooter users.
