The walk begins near the entrance to the National Trust reserve at Freshfield, but a start may be made from Freshfield Station, adding a further 1km to the walk. The first section has been completely realigned to avoid the ever-shifting sand-dunes that overwhelmed the original route. There is now an alternative loop that starts at Waypoint 17. This is longer, but in my view preferable, as it gives variety in this section. I have added this to Walkingworld and if you wish to take it you should download Walk No.7124.

Loveliest section yet but then it was a beautiful spring-like day! Fine views of the beach and sea from the crest of the dune at waypoint 7. Note that when you happen on a road at waypoint 16 you do not cross but just keep following the white topped posts to the right - alongside the road.
