From Sheffield Rail Station, the route first follows the Supertram tracks high above the rail tracks and roads below, with excellent views of the city skyline.
Pass through Victoria Quays to reach the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal. Then it's along the towpath, via Tinsley Flight of locks and the marina to Meadowhall shopping centre. Much to see aling the route, old industrial sites, modern sports and entertainment facilities, wildlife, tranquility. Good footpaths, level mostly.
