Shingle Street is at the end of the road in many senses! There are a number of places in Britain with the same name, but none is more appropriately titled. The lonely cottages on the seashore front the North Sea and a shingle beach, with no road between. The area was much used for secret training during the second world war and a number of tragic events occurred there. This walk visits some lonely, but pleasant locations and has an "atmosphere" all of its own.

At point 4, Marsh Farm Barn has a cafe, run by veterans. Although we have never found it open, there is a composting toilet in the car park. Nice walk, thank you.
