This walk follows a magnificent stretch of the South West Coast Path from Sidmouth to Beer, entirely within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are superb coastal and countryside views and woodland sections with a profusion of bluebells in spring. The walk is in two parts, the first from Branscombe to Beer, a very pretty East Devon village by the sea, where there is a wide choice of refreshment options. The CoastHopper bus service links Beer with Sidmouth, for the second and even more spectacular part of the walk back to Branscombe. There is an even wider choice of refreshment options in Sidmouth. By splitting the walk into two parts, the four fairly steep ascents and descents are made more manageable. The walk requires a fair amount of effort on good paths, but this is richly rewarded by some truly breathtaking views.
