This is a pleasant walk in the South leicestershire countryside including a stretch along the Grand Union Canal. At 7km it is the sort of walk that could be easily undertaken on a summer's evening. The paths are clearly marked and wildlife is usually in abundance along the towpaths, including dragonflies and the occasional fox.

This was a lovely walk on a mostly sunny day, with lots of dragonflies to be seen along the canal. The views from the towpath are attractive and varied. This part of the walk is dog-friendly, but we encountered livestock (including a couple of bulls)in all the fields. Had our picnic sitting on a bench in Smeeton Westerby, watching swifts flying in and out through holes in a barn roof. The directions are spot-on, though there are more of them than necessary! We will definitely walk the route again.
