This is a wonderful little walk from the beautful Oxfordshire village of South Newington, exploring the marvellous countryside along footpaths and bridleways as far as Groveash Lane on the Great Tew Estate. There are fine views over superb landscape where there is a mix of arable and pastureland and pockets of wooded areas, with outlying farms that add interest to the scenes. South Newington is a delightful village with pretty cottages and houses built of the attractive local stone and a very fine church of considerable size.

Nice walk although fields can get very heavy with clay ( I did this walk in very wet conditions!!) Path at side of church not easily noticeable. Care to be taken on road stretch. No shops or facilities in South Newington. We were camping in Newton Grove at a fantastic Caravan & Motorhome site for £7.60. Some really nice views and and not too challenging.

Great walk, although did it in blinding rain. Do make sure you have adequate footwear as a lot of the fields are heavy with clay. It felt like I had deep sea diving boots on!!. Also foot path at side of church is not at first visible. Care to be taken on road.
