The walk starts at the Municipal Golf course (ample free street parking) and then follows the Promenade on the east side of the Marine Lake. Plenty of wildlife to be found here and don’t forget to bring some bread for the birds! The route passes the The Lakeside Inn, reputably the smallest pub in Britain. You continue to follow the lakeside until passing under the pier; here there are refreshment facilities and a fairground carousel. The route continues to follow the lake until you reach the Lakeside Miniature Railway and Fairground. You will then pass through Victoria Park, taking note of the model car track, railway and boating lake. You will then return along the Sea Wall with a detour to the end of the pier, you can even take time out for a paddle if the tide is in. The walk is excellent under foot and is suitable for prams and the disabled, as ramp options are available throughout. There are plenty of refreshment opportunities throughout the walk.
