The area just south of the River Wear midway between Durham City and Bishop Auckland is the location for this enjoyable walk that explores the well-trodden tracks connecting the ancient villages of Tudhoe and Byers Green with the much larger and younger town of Spennymoor. The mainly flat route is on easy to follow paths through pleasant woods, open fields and along old-established lanes and ends with a railway walk back to Spennymoor. This is a walk suitable for the whole family at any time of the year.
