This walk circumnavigates Brailes Hill, a major landmark in this part of Warwickshire. The walk starts on a tarmac road, passing St Dennis Farm and on to Lower St Dennis Cottage, before entering field-paths over flat agricultural land with the hill ever-present on your left. After crossing the B4035 the walk crosses the hill's lower slopes as it gently rises towards North Farm. At the end of North Farm road close to Burmington Grange, there is a steep rise up Cherrington Hill.
At the top take time to look back at the panoramic view of the Stour Valley with Ilmington Hill in the distance. The walk now continues climbing slightly around Brailes Hill, with stunning views over the Sutton Valley, with Sutton-under-Brailes and its golf course. Eventually, after passing New House Barn, views look down on the village of Brailes with its majestic mediaeval church of St George, also known as the Cathedral of the Feldon.
After descending into the village of Upper Brailes, there is a welcome stop at The Gate Inn, behind which there is Castle Hill and a splendid example of a motte. After leaving Brailes there is a gentle slope down towards St Dennis. Keep a look out for the wild deer in this area.
