This area near Hay-on-Wye is quiet and full of wildlife. The walk starts from the church, which is well worth a visit. Probably founded by monks from Llanthony Abbey in the 11th Century, there are some fine yew trees old enough to have been there from 1086 at the time of the Doomsday Survey. Cusop Castle, which is on the right at Waymark 02, is nothing more than an embankment.
