Stanley Ghyll Force is one of the most picturesque waterfalls in the entire Lake District. The short route along the ravine to the spectacular falls is a true joy, with walls of rhododendron and dippers feeding in the rushing waters below.

This route starts off close to the village of Boot and close to two stations for Larl Ratty. The route heads south from the free car park and enters woodland just by the river. The riverbank path is followed all the way up to the falls, which requires some uphill and steps. The waterfall is located deep within a ravine with a superb viewpoint and a classic lakeland scene. Moss- and fern-covered rocks give this a tropical feel and protection from the harsh winds from the west.

A short backtrack leads to a woodland path and track which brings you back down to the car park at the start.
