Start from the car park serving the station and visitors to the castle. Stroll along one of the main streets of Stansted Mountfitchet, then soon enter a narrow lane before emerging onto field-paths and continuing to Ugley Green (which certainly deserves a better name!) Return on more field and farmland paths then enter Aubrey Buxton (which was once the pleasure park to Norman House). Saunter through this delightful woodland section, passing a number of small lakes, then leave it to follow another field-path and rejoin your outward route to return to your start point.
