A very pleasant walk with no climbs, taking in three villages on bridleways, footpaths and single track-roads in wonderful rural countryside.
From the attractive, quiet village of Stoke Lyne, the route takes in Bainton, hardly any more than a hamlet, with just a spattering of farm buildings and a few cottages, then goes on to Bucknell, a lovely setting, with charming dwellings of stone and a church of note with unusual features.
Flat farmland and pockets of woodland are the main scenes. The walk encounters a pheasant- breeding area and passes a sizeable field of pigs, additional points of interest along the way.
