From the picturesque little Oxfordshire village of Stoke Lyne, this is an easy walk in lovely countryside that takes in Bainton, a small community in a pretty setting. Rich agricultural land and wooded areas are main features of the landscape and buildings of stone add their appeal and character. St Peter's Church of Stoke Lyne dates back to the 14th Century and is architecturally beautiful inside and out, well worth a lingering pause.

This is a lovely walk, but sadly was made more difficult by a few issues. When we got to point 6 we really struggled, and failed, to follow the subesquent directions, and ended up having to back-track to the road in Bainton, and re-join the walk part-way during point 7. Slightly suspect this was due to removal of way-markers, as we did encounter hostile land-owners, who quite threateningly (with their three large dogs, off leads) demanded we leave their land, and denied the existance of the route we were trying to follow! Trying to pick the route up on the road out of Bainton, we also found a stile where the footpath sign had clearly been removed and reattached to point in the wrong direction. Will investigate how to report this. In spite of all this, a lovely walk, which we and our spaniel thoroughly enjoyed.
