From the Cotswold market town of Stow-on-the-Wold this circular walk visits the delightful villages of Broadwell and Donnington. This is a shorter alternative to another of our contributions from Stow-On-The-Wold (7642). This shorter walk explores more of Broadwell and has a quicker return route from Donnington.
The walk begins with an introduction to Stow town centre, then on to the ‘wells’, which supplied the town's main water until 1937. We visit Broadwell with its attractive village green and property. Both Broadwell and Donnington has its own quintessential Cotswold character. The return from Donnington is by track and field. The last 200-250 metres does require walking along the verge of the Fosse Way but the verge is wide enough to keep off the road and vision is generally good.
