This beautiful circular walk is a real delight. Starting in the market town of Sudbury with its array of shops and historic buildings, you follow field paths, roads, a stretch beside the River Stour before reaching the picturesque village of Long Melford. You then follow the high street for 1 mile passing many shops, pubs, tea rooms and antique centres before arriving at the delightful Stour Vally Trail which you follow for 2 and half miles back to Sudbury station. Many photo opportunities are available along the route, also note the many swans that congregate on the river by Brundon Mill.
With a slight diversion when arriving at the high street in Long Melford, you could visit Melford Hall, Kentwell Hall and the stunning Holy Trinity church. (For the two halls see the websites for visiting times).
