A station to station walk starting in Sudbury, Suffolk to Bures on the Suffolk/Essex border. This is a stunning walk with some superb views along the route using field paths, enclosed paths and quiet country lanes. Enroute you pass through a few villages and you also follow sections of two long distance paths (Stour Valley Path and St Edmund Way). There are some short sections beside the River Stour and through Sudbury Meadows which is a local picnic area.
You have a chance of two pub stops along the route and one at the end. The Henny Swan pub has a beautiful riverside seating area, an ideal location for a picnic. All paths were clear (August 2022) apart from one field edge which was overgrown with long grass. There are some hills to climb along the route, but it's worth it for the amazing views.
