Sudbury is a very picturesque and historic small town in Suffolk. The walk starts from the station at the end of the Gainsborough Line (Suffolk was the home of the painter of that name).

Using a delightful path beside the river and stretches of dismantled railway track, as well as field paths and country lanes, you visit Borley. This is a hamlet in Essex; (half the walk is in that county). Borley is very widely renowned as "the most haunted place in Britain". You have the opportunity to visit the church, Borley Place and the site of the old rectory - but take care if you go in July!

A beautiful walk with clear instructions.I visited a few lovely churches enroute and only added about 0.3 of a mile. Highly recommended walk. Just 2 updates,at Waymark 2 After going through the barriers and turn right on the broad track,it now passes through a new build estate.Keep going in the same direction, cross a road, carry on through the estate until you reach the main track where you turn right and it soon becomes the Valley trail. At Waymark 6 After you cross the footbridge and pass the pill box on your right, there is another bridge to cross with kissing gates before you reach the kissing gate at Waymark 7
