Walk route passes through several nature reserves which were industrial sites but are now green areas. Sutton Manor, an ex-coal mine is the site of The Dream sculpture which offers good views and has a number of information boards describing its history. Clock Face Park is another ex-coal mine which is now parkland. Sutton Mill Dam Reservoir is now a picturesque fishing lake leading to an ex-brickworks site now a green corridor. Sounds very industrial but now very green.
