A lovely walk at any time of the year, but especially fine in spring when the floor of Swan Wood is covered in bluebells and spring migrant birds are singing. In summer there are butterflies in the woodland glades and lanes. The ancient Church of St Margaret is worthy of a visit to see the wooden steeple and the Commonwealth War Graves. There is a sunny seat to the rear of the church for picnic and coffee stops. Sometimes there are wild honey-bees in the woodwork of the church and in spring the churchyard is festooned with primroses. The walk passes through the large Fristling Hall Estate, famed for its beef cattle, which are safely enclosed behind wrought-iron fences. Returning via the Wid Valley and Crondon Park Golf Course, this easy walk makes a pleasant morning or afternoon stroll.
