The walk starts in Swardeston Village, the birthplace of Nurse Edith Cavell. The village is surrounded by forty acres of common, where many species of wild flowers can be found. The route is over part of the common, along footpaths, tracks and country lanes and through the village of Mulbarton where there is an excellent hostelry, the World's End Inn.
