Swinley Forest lies to the south of Bracknell in Berkshire and covers an area of over 2,600 acres. Much of it is densely populated with Scots pines and feels a million miles away from the nearby towns. Several well-maintained walking paths form an extensive network across the forest and are suitable for buggies. Although there are some gently undulating hills, it is a relatively flat walk and good for all abilities. Dogs are welcome too. Having enjoyed the forest scenery, the route runs by the Iron Age fort of Caesar's Camp. While there is not much left of this ancient settlement, the steep banks and surrounding ditch give an idea of the scale and defensive qualities of the place.

Walked 23.05.2021 This is a very nice walk to spend an hour or two and is a gentle stroll. There is a cafe and toilets and easy parking (£3 for 4 hours) at the start. Good directions and actually very quiet on the tracks make for a very easy and relaxing walk. You don't really walk within the forest as the tracks are open but it's a nice all-rounder!
