This is one of two walks on the Hill of Tain (see Walk ID 2302). Both share sections of open, mainly pine, forest and moorland and both enjoy splendid views from Pulpit Rock, where five counties and the Dornoch, Cromarty and Moray Firths may be viewed. The route undulates, gaining and losing height but paths are good (muddy bits after Waymark 08); boots are advised. Large parts of the forest have been felled, so giving more views than you would expect from the map.

If you pick a day with an east wind you'll enjoy a whiff of the nearby Glenmorangie Distillery...

Note that this walk ends at a different car park from the start point. Ideally you need two cars or someone prepared to pick you up.
