Tarbena and the Vuelta del Somo

From where you parked, the hike begins in a sedate manner rambling through timeless old countryside. Soon we are climbing a little beside a barranco to reach the CV752 and we follow this for a while, passing over the Puerta Sa Creuta at 780m ASL. Our next stage is also easy rambling through forested countryside and old terraced farmland until we reach the Aljibe. Now we begin to follow a rocky footpath beside the deep barranco climbing gradually through woods and in open country. We crest at the Foja el Clot and now start a long rocky footpath taking us steadily downwards towards the impressive Paso Tancat. At the bottom we turn north and continue down into the beautiful valley bottom surrounded by massive cliffs, Finally we climb out of the valley up a concrete lane and are soon back in timeless countryside with only a short and easy leg back to the car.
